School

The site for the new school has now been handed over to Suffolk County Council, who has already confirmed that a 420-place primary school will be built on the site in the near future. This will help to meet the educational requirements of the existing children of Red Lodge and the new community at Kings Warren, and relieve the problems associated with overcrowding in the existing Tuddenham School, 5 miles from the site.

The 4 acre parcel of land allocated for the school is to the north of the Village Centre and faces on to both Warren Road and Hundred Acre Way. A drop-off point for children arriving by car will be provided parallel to Warren Road, with traffic-free routes for children who will go to school by cycle or on foot provided by the north to south and east to west cycleways that meet at the school site.

Crest Nicholson’s proposals for the Village Centre show a school building to provide an indication of what might be built, but Suffolk County Council will be staging their own consultation exercise in the future.
