Green Travel Plan
It is important that every new community has its own Green Travel Plan to reduce the environmental impacts of the movements of new residents on the development and the surrounding area.
Kings Warren has a network of footpaths and cycleways providing traffic-free routes around the development and giving residents an alternative to walking alongside the main roads. The school, Village Centre, sports facilities and the employment land to the north will all be accessible via these paths and cycleways. Click here for more information on green travel to the school.
However, providing the paths is not enough to encourage people to use their cars less often, so Crest Nicholson has produced a draft Green Travel Plan. When it is approved by Forest Heath District Council and Suffolk County Council, it will be distributed to every resident at Kings Warren. The plan will include details of bus services, maps showing the footpaths and cycle routes, and advice on car sharing and working from home. An update will be issued every year in order to keep the advice up-to-date.
