Drainage
Foul Drainage
The proposed foul drainage strategy for Kings Warren features a foul sewer network located within the primary access route, draining by gravity from the southern end to the pumping station located at the northern end of the development.
Spurs from this ‘spinal’ foul sewer network will pick up the internal systems of foul drainage from each of the ‘character zones’ at Kings Warren, via strategically located manhole chambers positioned within the road junctions of the primary access route.
Surface Water Drainage
All domestic (roof and driveway / private area run-off) surface water will discharge into SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage System) ditches that run alongside Warren Road and Hundred Acre Way. The SUDS ditches collect all rain that falls on any part of the site that has a hard surface, and returns it to the ground under the site. This is instead of it being sent in a pipe somewhere else, potentially causing flooding problems.
